Legal & General has announced the launch of SmartQuote for Intermediaries.
In an interview conducted last summer, Legal & General director of broker and intermediary Simon Hird said that the home insurance quote software would be able to provide a home insurance quote in five questions.
The firm now adds that if an adviser knows their customer’s name, address and date of birth, simply asking yes or no to the question of whether the customer or anybody living with them has made a building and/or contents insurance claim in the last five years is enough information to provide a quote.
Legal & General says that this lack of complex questions exposes both adviser and client to less disclosure risk.
Hird comments: “Gone are the days of endless questions and the home insurance journey being considered a hassle or time-consuming.
“With research showing that one in four households has no contents cover, it is clear that customers are too often ignoring the importance of protecting their home.
“Advisers can play an integral role in combatting this by ensuring their clients are properly protected in case of any eventualities and with the launch of SmartQuote for Intermediaries this has become easier than ever before.”
