Newcastle appoints new non-executive director

Newcastle Building Society has appointed Adam Bennett (pictured) to its board as non-executive director and to its group risk committee.

Bennett spent 36 years at business law firm Addleshaw Goddard, where he specialised in advising building societies and other financial mutuals as well as advising on corporate governance.

He has also advised on the powers and statutory fiduciary duties of directors.

Bennett comments: “With such an extensive knowledge of the building society sector, I am pleased to be working with Newcastle Building Society during this exciting time of growth and investment into their business, colleagues and local communities.”

Newcastle Building Society’s chairman Phil Moorhouse adds: “Adam brings significant building society experience and law expertise to our board as a non-executive director.

“We are pleased to welcome him to the society to help us deliver on our commitments and ambitions.”
